BoatKit Cloud is a secure path back to the BoatKit runtime on the vessel, not a replacement for it. Collection, local history, alarms, dashboards, and equipment integrations continue aboard. The cloud supplies account and pairing services, remote reach, notifications, and shared data services that benefit from an internet connection.
Remote users open the same BoatKit interface and saved views used on the boat. From a phone or computer they can check supported power, tanks, position, weather, cameras, alarms, and equipment state without learning a separate fleet dashboard. What is current depends on the vessel being online and the relevant source still reporting.
Access without exposing the boat’s network
Device pairing establishes ownership, and per-vessel roles determine what an authenticated viewer may see or control. The vessel makes an outbound BoatKit Cloud connection rather than requiring an inbound port exposed on the marina or cellular network.
Owners can disable ordinary remote store streaming or public viewing independently. Vessel-mode systems still maintain the BoatKit Cloud service connection used for admission, notification relay, and other safety paths. Supported push, verified email, SMS, sharing, chart, and weather services build on that connection while leaving onboard operation local-first.
