BoatKit treats video as another item you can place in a saved view. A stern camera can sit beside range and speed for docking; machinery-space cameras can share a screen with temperatures and alarms; a low-light forward feed can accompany the chart and radar at night. A feed can also be opened on its own when the picture deserves the whole display.
Camera sources
Supported sources include compatible USB video devices, manually configured RTSP cameras, and cameras or FLIR sources discovered through supported Garmin Marine Network equipment. SIONYX Nightwave is one tested USB source and uses BoatKit’s general camera path rather than a separate proprietary integration.
Local viewing keeps the stream on the vessel network. A registered, connected vessel can also make supported streams available through BoatKit Cloud, subject to the codec, source, and available uplink bandwidth. An always-on BoatKit device is the practical choice when cameras need to remain reachable after a tablet is suspended or leaves the boat.
