BoatKit can start a connected DynaGen generator when a selected battery reaches a low state of charge, then request its normal Stop sequence at a higher mark. Quiet hours can use a separate pair of emergency marks so routine charging waits while battery protection remains available. The generator controller remains responsible for its engine protections and stopping sequence.
An administrator can also start from the Generators tool or a dashboard item for a chosen number of hours and minutes, or until the selected battery reaches a chosen SOC. The SOC option begins at the high mark active for the vessel’s current quiet or normal hours. BoatKit retains its run target across a local restart and caps its own runs at 24 hours if the target is not reached.
The automation runs on the vessel without an Internet connection after setup. It needs a connected generator controller in Auto and a current SOC reading from the selected battery. Boats with Victron Cerbo GX integration can opt into a generator warm-up period before accepting AC and a cool-down period before stopping. Both default to None. BoatKit saves a recovery record before telling the Cerbo GX to ignore its configured generator input and keeps that record until the input is confirmed available again, including across a BoatKit restart.
