Bring individual AC breaker loads, mains phases, and accumulated energy from one or more SEM-Meters into BoatKit over local MQTT.

Add SEMMeter from BoatKit’s Power/Electrical integration catalog, then point the SEM-Meter app at BoatKit’s authenticated vessel-local MQTT broker. BoatKit translates the documented report into separate current, power, imported-energy, and applicable exported-energy measurements for every branch circuit and mains phase, together with mains totals and the explicitly identified mains-phase voltages.

The 16 circuits in each meter stay distinct. Installations that need more channels can connect additional SEM-Meters to the same broker, each with its own BoatKit-generated publish-only login. The serial in each report keeps device state and circuit configuration separate. BoatKit shows the full hardware serial so an administrator can match each connected entry to the physical meter, and nests categorized data by adapter, meter, named circuit, and mains phase instead of presenting one flat sensor list.

The MQTT report does not carry the circuit labels or multipliers saved in the SEM-Meter app. Download that meter’s Home Assistant configuration text file and import it on the matching BoatKit meter card. BoatKit verifies the embedded serial, previews all 16 circuits, and applies the complete mapping together so one meter’s file cannot rename another. Manual editing remains available. BoatKit applies each circuit’s multiplier to power and energy while retaining the current-transformer reading as reported. It omits unreliable per-circuit voltage because the meter does not identify the circuit’s mains phase, and zero-only exported-energy fields stay out of the catalog and history unless a circuit actually reports reverse energy. Enabled measurements can be used in IoT gauges, history, onboard alerts, and triggers.

Each meter also becomes an AC load item in BoatKit’s power system. Assign it to the AC bus it monitors—for example, the inverter output feeding its panel—and the power chart shows a compact two-column list of the highest-usage named circuits and their wattage. A configurable wattage threshold, 1 W by default, keeps standby noise off the card without removing those measurements from IoT history. Multiple meters remain separate and can be placed on different AC buses.

The live path remains on the vessel network after normal setup and can continue through an internet outage. A dedicated BoatKit device provides the always-on broker, histories, and alerts expected from continuous electrical monitoring.
