BoatKit’s Raymarine adapter handles supported RayNet discovery and vendor-specific communication, then registers the scanner with BoatKit’s common radar interface. The source can occupy a dedicated radar display, overlay the chart where supported, or share a saved view with other navigation and watchkeeping instruments.
The BoatKit host needs the correct RayNet-to-Ethernet path. A tablet installation generally adds a compatible Ethernet adapter or powered hub and must preserve charging and any separate internet connection; a dedicated device can remain connected to the marine network continuously.
