BoatKit communicates directly with supported MasterBus equipment through a Mastervolt USB Link, SocketCAN, or compatible USB-CAN path. Reading the native bus preserves more equipment detail than reducing the system to a small set of generic NMEA values.
Supported batteries, chargers, and electrical state are translated into BoatKit’s shared power model. A Mastervolt-equipped vessel can therefore use the same power dashboards, history, alarms, and cross-system context as other supported installations while retaining the identity of the original MasterBus devices. This is particularly useful on a refit where Mastervolt equipment coexists with navigation sensors and components from other power ecosystems.
Direct MasterBus input currently belongs on a dedicated BoatKit device; tablets can view the resulting data through that device. The implementation is independent, and interface, equipment-model, and firmware coverage should be confirmed before an installation is planned.
