Alexa can read supported live vessel data through BoatKit’s categorized data catalog. Friendly source names and the crew’s preferred units carry through to tank, power, temperature, pressure, engine, and other numeric values instead of exposing the vendor protocols underneath.
Supported voice requests can also create a BoatKit trigger after the user confirms the change. The resulting rule runs aboard the vessel and can produce a notification or alarm when its condition is met; Alexa does not need to remain involved after creating it.
Account linking and scope
Account linking through BoatKit Cloud grants a revocable connection to one selected vessel without giving Alexa the user’s BoatKit password. The vessel must be registered and online for live requests, and automation changes require BoatKit administrator access.
