AISHub is a two-way AIS exchange. When the owner opts in, eligible reports actually received aboard are relayed through BoatKit Cloud to AISHub. In return, BoatKit can request auxiliary targets for the area around the vessel and merge supported reports into the same chart, target-details, and relative-motion model used for onboard AIS.
Cloud-derived targets are never sent back as though the vessel received them locally. Participation requires a working onboard AIS source, a current position, continuous internet access, and consent to share that local reception; no separate AISHub key is entered in BoatKit.
The returned data is supplemental. Internet AIS can be late, incomplete, or unavailable and does not replace an onboard receiver, a proper lookout, or other means of navigation.
