The training simulator runs a modeled vessel and supplies synthetic position, heading, attitude, water speed, engine, transmission, and rudder state to the normal BoatKit interfaces. Charts and instruments therefore respond through the same paths used for live data, without adding the exercise to the vessel’s actual trip history.

A built-in helm provides throttle, transmission, and rudder controls. Supported setups can instead select physical NMEA 2000 inputs, use virtual controls, or give fresh physical input automatic priority. The exercise view combines the forward scene, chart, helm, speed, rudder, and engine instruments, while training settings select the vessel model and bounded steering behavior.

This is intended for familiarization, development, and guided exercises. It is not a certified simulator and cannot validate the handling or safety systems of a real vessel.
